The Diagnostic

Score your organisation against the seven primitives and the cross-cutting federation pattern. Eight sections, five maturity levels each, and an honest radar of where your engineering data actually stands.

How to use it. The instrument is meant for a small team, not a single individual: a federation-minded engineer, a senior practitioner from each discipline, someone who knows the PLM estate. For each section, pick the level description your organisation matches as a whole — the levels are cumulative, and the matching rule is strict: partial Level 4 is Level 3 with intent. Add a one-line evidence note where you can; a score without evidence is an opinion. Nothing you enter leaves this page: scores are kept in your browser only, so a team can pause and come back.

Your scenario

Five drivers set it: how long the product lives · how many boundaries the work crosses · how much deployed units diverge · what your regulatory requirements are · how costly it is to lose tacit knowledge. Pick the closest match and the interpretation will read your scores against what your scenario actually demands, not against the maximal architecture. Skip it and you get the absolute reading from the book.
